If you've studied auto mechanics, you might be wondering about advancement opportunities in Ford dealerships. If so, there are many reasons to consider a career as a Ford Automotive Service Technician. This career field has excellent advancement opportunities, and you can expect to make a good living doing it. In fact, Ford dealerships often hire their own technicians, so you have the opportunity to learn in-house from a trained expert.
If you're interested in advancing your career as a Ford Automotive Service Technician, you can choose to complete a formal program offered by the Ford Motor Company (ASSET). This two-year program is geared toward preparing students to become brand-certified automotive service technicians. The curriculum for this program includes both classroom and lab instruction and hands-on training with diagnostic test equipment. There are also placement opportunities in cooperating automotive service facilities, where you can complete your training while working under the supervision of a supervisor. Upon completion of the program, you can earn an Associate of Applied Science degree and a Certification in Automotive Technology.
Ford is currently looking for talented, motivated students to fill these jobs. The automotive industry is booming in Bloomfield, New Jersey, and the Ford Automotive Career Exploration program is one way to meet the demand. This program was launched three years ago and has already made an impact on students in every state in the country. The program has impacted nearly nine thousand students and has created partnerships with 823 Ford and Lincoln dealerships to recruit and train future technicians.
